Meet The Trends That You’ll Be Seeing All Over Instagram This Fall

It’s finally starting to feel like Fall and I could not be happier! The crisp air is apparent and there’s just something so comforting knowing that I can throw a jacket on and layer in peace, without feeling like I’m going to melt (thank you September for reminding me that it’s really just the simple things in life that make it so lovely). We really got a glimpse into some major Fall trends with all the bomb street style we saw this year during fashion month. Fashion month ended roughly a week ago and all I’m thinking about right now is how much I’m going to miss seeing daily runway updates and a glimpse into my spring wardrobe from WWD.¬†Introducing some of the Fall trends you will not be able to get enough of this season.

Plaid? In the Fall? Absolutely riveting…we’ve never seen this one before. Obvi plaid has been around forever and it’s most definitely a Fall fave for all, but we have got to acknowledge the way you are going to be seeing it on every it girl this season. Of course, you’ll have the typical flannel that you can wear when you go to the pumpkin patch, but we’re seeing plaid get real spicy this year. This season, we’re seeing plaid in bold colors such as pink, yellow, and orange, not to mention that it’s very popular when worn as a matching set or with a subtle print. I think it’s time to rewatch Clueless for some more style inspo.

I absolutely LOVE THIS TREND. To be honest with you, I don’t think I’m cool enough to rock it but I love. Your go-to turtleneck has now become a lot brighter this season with their new and improved color palette. In enters your Crayola markers aka your NEON COLOURS! You’ve got the fuschia pink, the lime green, the highlighter yellow, and it doesn’t end there. This is obviously quite the statement piece and it’s not just for the runway. How would I wear this trend? I’d grab my fave black culotte pants, a neon green turtleneck, a pair of booties and call it a day.

There is nothing sexier than a suit. And the fact that they are so versatile just makes it that much sexier. On the runway, we saw suits styled with sequence (which is another huge trend this season btw), a bunch of cape sleeves, suits in bright colors, plaid, and in dress form. This can be something you wear to the office, but it’s also something you can wear with sneakers. WIN? Yes. I’d wear this trend as a blazer dress with sneakers (shocking), and a belt. BRING ON THE BLAZERS PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

Whatever you do, don’t get rid of your midi dresses! Lucky for us, we can continue frolicking in our flowy, floral dresses. Add a turtleneck, belt, slouchy boots, and you got yourself a fall outfit! Prairie dresses were all over the runway this year. It’s safe to say that Zimmermann KILLED it with this trend because I mean duh. Zimmermann is goals when it comes to dresses. Personal faves of mine were seen from Isabel Marant, Altuzarra, and of course Zimmermann. How would I wear this trend? I would love an orange floral dress, cinched in the waist with a black belt, slouchy white booties, with a baker boy hat. That is how I would do Anne of Green Gable’s justice.

Someone, please hand over to me all of the tweed. Tweed bags, skirts, and blazers are all the rage right now. Tweed says warmth and class in so many ways. Ever since the Chanel Fall 2018 show, whenever I see tweed I see leaves and suddenly feel crisp air- it’s such a vibe. Tweed was all over the runway this season and it was best captured in coat, skirt, and blazer form. Colors ranged from neutral brown tones to bold reds. My personal favorites off the runway were from Chanel (of course) and Adam Lippes. I would style this trend by starting off with a pink and white strapless tweed dress, layered with a white mock neck that has a statement sleeve, with sheer black tights, and black booties. Coco Chanel lovers rejoice because tweed is back and it’s not going anywhere. Hallelujah!
